Job Description

The Regional Business Manager Provides a systems approach to directing and supporting external relations strategies within an assigned region to reduce risk and enhance business opportunities. Assures that an external perspective is integrated into the company’s strategic planning and decision-making processes. Participates in community and civic affairs to improve the company’s ability to efficiently deliver services; foster economic vitality; position the company to effectively compete and grow; strengthen goodwill through corporate citizenship; and enhance corporate reputation as a strategic asset. Proactively manages simple-to-complex corporate and community issues, policies, regulations, and multi-dimensional projects to meet critical business needs. Plans and implements strategies and activities to address opportunities for successful corporate growth. Works collaboratively with colleagues including construction/plant/local managers and representatives to build external allies and meet company objectives.

Requirements

Four-year degree in business, marketing, political science, social science, communications, or a related field and/or extensive work-related experience to demonstrate an ability to excel in strategic corporate affairs. Must exhibit exceptional social and interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as demonstrate strategic leadership and effective negotiation capabilities. Rapidly responds to changes in the business and/or community environment and adjusts priorities as needed. Knowledge of the utility industry and the company is advantageous. Requires frequent use of relationship-building and influencing skills. Requires irregular work hours, a valid driver’s license, and a personal vehicle. Other combinations of education/experience may be considered.
