Job DescriptionAvista is seeking a collaborative HR Manager (HR Business Partner) or Sr. HR Manager (Sr. HR Business Partner) to join our Human Resources team. The HR Manager or Sr. HR Manager will provide guidance to all levels of the organization to develop and implement human resource strategies and solutions that align with organizational goals. Serves as a liaison between assigned business units and human resources by representing the needs of the business units in the design of human resource programs and policies. May administer programs, procedures, and plans used in carrying out human resource policies.
Responsibilities
Develops management strategies for complex HR initiatives, facilitates bench strength discussion and employee development planning.
Ability to think strategically, execute tactically and collaborate with all levels in the organization to influence positive outcomes that drive results.
Promotes effective employee/management relations by facilitating problem resolution and team building.
Advises leaders with employee relations issues.
Partners with clients in diagnosing performance and development gaps.
Works with clients to design and implement programs, processes and interventions for employees to improve performance, increase development and enhance growth.
Provides direction and support in compensation decisions.
Assists in effective administration of labor agreements.
Promotes effective employee relations by facilitating problem resolution and team building, advises leaders on employee relations issues as they arise and ensures fairness and consistency of disciplinary actions.
Conducts investigations on matters relating to violations of company policies, equal employment opportunity (EEO), discrimination and harassment complaints.
Gathers and analyzes information, prepares reports, recommendations, and may conduct various training programs.
HR Manager Requirements (Starting range $84,939 - $110,421)
BA in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
5+ years of related HR experience including client partnering skills, broad knowledge of general HR principles, practices and procedures.
Ability to complete complex assignments, facilitate meetings and conduct training as necessary.
Experience with labor relations preferred.
Requires valid driver's license.
Professional level human resource certification preferred (e.g. SHRM-CP/ PHR or SHRM-SCP/SPHR).
Senior HR Manager Requirements (Starting range $96,417 - $126,439)
BA in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
8+ years of related and progressive HR experience including previous HR manager experience.
Ability to complete complex assignments, facilitate meetings and conduct training
Experience with labor relations preferred.
Requires valid driver's license.
Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise of HR principles, practices and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to lead HR strategy, complex assignments, and teams.
Professional level human resource certification preferred (e.g. SHRM-CP/ PHR or SHRM-SCP/SPHR).
Hybrid work options are available for this role. The successful candidate will be required to work at our Spokane, Washington headquarters at least 3 days per week including Mondays and Tuesdays with an additional day determined by the employee and manager.
