Avista is seeking a HR Administrative Assistant dedicated to creating the ultimate customer experience. This position offers a varied workload and the opportunity to experience HR components across the entire employee life-cycle.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • First point of contact in the Human Resources Department for internal and external customers.

  • Provides information to employees regarding HR practices, programs, job openings, training, and benefits.

  • Supports the entire Human Resources team.

  • Collaborates and provides support to a diverse scope of department initiatives.

  • Enters and maintains accurate Human Resource Information Systems records.

  • Engaged in the entire recruiting process through job posting, interview scheduling, prepping interview packets, and closing jobs.

  • Develops and maintains a professional relationship with leaders and employees by ensuring a sense of trust, confidentiality, and respect.

  • Works to streamline and improve administrative processes.

  • Assists with compliance of the company’s Affirmative Action Plan

  • Completes employee filing in digital and paper form.

  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous administrative experience preferred.

  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in-person, over the phone, and via e-mail.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Dedicated to the internal and external customer experience.

  • Ability to juggle competing priorities and frequent interruptions.

  • Committed to lifelong learning.

  • Experience with HRIS and other technology systems preferred.

  • Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration is a plus.

  • Other combinations of education and experience will be considered.
