As an HDD Steer Hand you will be responsible for the alignment, maintenance, and operation of steering equipment for the construction of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) projects. This position must operate steering equipment to successfully deliver the client’s project requirements, and is responsible for all steering activities at the project site including equipment, procedures, and effective troubleshooting and analysis. It is essential to possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Critical for success are excellent attention to detail and sound problem solving skills.

    WHAT IT TAKES:

  • High School Certificate and 3-5 years of experience surveying for complex HDD projects

  • Advanced math skills

  • Experience utilising survey equipment such as a GPS, Total Station, etc.

  • Experience with steering programs

  • A valid driver licence for the type(s) of vehicles you may be driving and an acceptable driving record

  • Must be eligible to work in Australia

  • Ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and police check.
