Camp Edison is owned and operated by Southern California Edison (SCE) located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains adjacent to Shaver Lake, California. It is surrounded by SCE’s managed 20,000-acre forest, has been featured in travel publications, and has a reputation for providing a high-quality camping experience at a beautiful location. The campground contains 252 campsites, is open year-round, and serves over 200,000 visitors each year.

The CampgroundMaintenance Supervisor position will work with the Senior Manager, Campground Operations Supervisor, and Forestry Supervisor as part of the Camp Edison and Forestry Team. The position oversees approximately 15 full-time and seasonal staff who ensure the maintenance and improvement of Camp Edison and Shaver Lakes recreation area facilities.

  • Hiring, weekly scheduling, andleadingthe maintenance team

  • Plans, schedules, and oversees projects to enhance campground and recreation facility reliability and visitor experience

  • Oversight ofCampground and Recreation areamaintenanceincluding21 restrooms, 252 campsites,and their associatedwater, electrical, and waste systems

  • Overseescompliance testingand reporting of water and well systems

  • Assistswith contractor oversight during facility construction and significant maintenance work

  • Inventory,purchasingand upkeepofparts,tools,andequipment

  • SupportsForestry and Camp Edison Teamwithvarious operational needs such as campground reservations, tree planting,pile burning,and snow removal

  • Supports Edison’s Safety Culture and Company Values

Qualifications

The essential

  • Two (2) or more years of experience providing functional direction to employees or team members.

  • Two (2) or more years of experience in facility/ commercial construction, maintenance, or repair work (i.e., carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, or similar field).

The preferred

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in campground maintenance

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in team coordination and relationship building

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in customer relations, communication, and successfully resolving customer service complaints

  • General Building Contractor, Residential Remodeling Contractor, or Specialty Contractor License

  • Experience in maintaining transient community water systems, and sewer systems.

  • This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
