This position supervises, provides technical direction and coordinates all work associated with the maintenance and repair of electric generators, motors, switches, circuit breakers, installation/removal of TP&L (Temporary Power & Light) and related electrical equipment.
· Supervise, plan and direct maintenance and repair activities under associated electrical equipment.
· Assist in the development and administration of preventive maintenance procedures.
· Manage and supervise craft associates and provide leadership by training, appraising, coaching, counseling, rewarding and disciplining associates.
· Foster inter- and intra-departmental teamwork to meet Fossil Generation's mission.
· Estimate, plan, schedule and direct repair & maintenance activities, including interfacing with other organizations (Nuclear, etc.).
· Manage resources by utilizing administrative systems and procedures such as SAP and Primavera.
· Support development of estimates and technical proposals for clients.
· Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.
Required Skills, Competencies, Education and Experience:
Must obtain an acceptable score on the First Line Supervisor's Test (FLST) unless presently and directly supervising personnel for a minimum of 12 continuous months. For those who have previously taken and received an acceptable score on the FLST but who are not presently and directly supervising represented associates, test results will be valid for a maximum period of two years from the date the test was taken. Acceptable results exceeding the two-year period (for those applicants not presently and directly supervising represented associates) cannot be used in bidding on or applying for a first line supervisory position for which the test was validated.
Must have a strong working knowledge of power distribution up to 4Kv.
Must be able to read electrical prints & schematics
Must be able to trouble shoot and repair electrical systems
Must be possess proficient computer skills
Must have a valid driver's license and a minimum of five years power plant maintenance experience or equivalent.
Must be able to obtain unescorted access to PSEG Nuclear facility
Working level knowledge & use of SAP applications (Desired)
Technical Certification or Training (Desired).
Stationary Engineer License or PE License (Desired).
Because the job requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.
