Position Specific Description
This job is responsible for performing a wide range of planner and scheduler activities that support projects and operations within the NextEra Energy Nuclear Transmission Organization. Employees in this role apply broad nuclear plant / transmission and substation maintenance experience to ensure the business unit is successful meeting schedule and budgetary goals. This position also assists the Project Manager to monitor overall project implementation readiness to minimize the impact on schedule. Some important position specific attributes are:
As a leader, assists in establishing and enforcing expectations related to safety, procedure compliance, corrective actions, and appropriate work behaviors.
Coordinates and schedules maintenance and project activities to ensure safe and efficient execution of work plans that optimizes transmission equipment performance and availability.
Coordinate’s planning activities with other departments e.g. Maintenance, Work Management, ISC.
Creates and maintains business unit budget and direct activities to correct variances.
Maintains program compliance with plant, fleet, industry and regulatory requirements e.g. NEIL, NERC.
Job Overview
The successful candidate assists in the design of planned work and design-change packages. Employees in this role define procedures, drawings, equipment and materials required to perform planned work packages. Individuals act as liaison with engineering department and/or vendors to coordinate activities.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Conducts field walkdowns to identify and analyze corrective and preventative maintenance, modification, and surveillance activities
Develops computerized critical-path schedules for day-to-day maintenance activities as well as for refueling and maintenance outages
Prepares and analyzes daily work schedules to optimize equipment availability and manpower usage and recommends appropriate modifications
Publishes daily work schedules and monitors progress
Documents schedule problems, maintains statistics and performs trend analysis
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Grad / GED
Experience: 7+ years
Nuclear Experience: 7+ years
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Bachelor's - Engineering
Trade School Graduate
Technical Certificate Program
Special Requirements
Nuclear Specific Requirements:
With High School Diploma/GED: 1+ year of planning experience AND 8+ years trade nuclear power experience in Engineering, Maintenance (electrical, mechanical, I&C) or Operations
With Associate's in Engineering or related physical science: 6+ years of technical experience in Engineering, Maintenance, or Operations
With Bachelor's in Engineering or related physical science: 4+ years of technical experience in Engineering, Maintenance, or Operations
Prior relevant military experience may be considered as equivalent
Experience with Microsoft Office, online scheduling applications and work management processes
Nuclear Specific Preferences:
Planning and/or scheduling experience in a nuclear facility: 6+ years
Completion of a maintenance trade apprenticeship program with applicable trade experience, or engineering/nuclear plant operations experience
