Summary
The Manager will be responsible for leading and developing the study efforts for evaluating the impacts of interconnecting new resource and large industrial load projects to SRP's system. The role will require providing technical leadership, coordination, and communication across internal stakeholders and external customers, while overseeing staff and consultants performing the studies.
What You'll Do
Manages, hires, trains, and develops professionals and engineers, and/or business-critical subject-matter experts in the evaluation of the impacts of interconnecting new resource projects (e.g., renewable, natural gas, DER) and large industrial load projects (e.g., manufacturing, data centers) to the transmission and distribution system.
Provides ongoing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to empower, engage and drive high employee performance.
Oversees and approves project plans and deliverables including work scopes, schedules, milestones, budgets, and customer agreements.
Ensures high productivity, efficiency, and quality by establishing and monitoring key performance indicator metrics for personnel and projects.
Implement quality control measures to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
Manages the procurement of contracted services including engineering and/or project management services with supervision of contract negotiations, administration, activities, performance, and relationships.
Manages the development and negotiation of project agreements with outside entities including large customers.
Provides project sponsorship by effectively communicating and managing expectations and objectives to engineering personnel, supporting organizations, customers, and other stakeholders.
Participate and/or lead formal and informal meetings concerning projects and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, including customers.
What It Takes To Succeed
Knowledge and understanding of operating procedures, engineering design, and policies relating to the transmission and distribution of power.
Ability to work effectively with various organizational groups within SRP and with outside entities.
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Ability to successfully work in a team environment.
Effective time management skills
Skilled in presentation abilities and oral and written communications.
Ability to advocate on SRP's behalf in public and industry forums.
Experience
A minimum of eight years of related experience is required (if no degree, 12 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling 12 years).
Education
A bachelor’s degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
