Clearway Energy M365 Azure Cloud Engineer in Scottsdale, Arizona
What The Role Is
The M365 Azure Cloud Engineer is a key member of the IT Infrastructure team at Clearway Energy Group (CEG). The M365 Azure Cloud Engineer is responsible for analyzing, architecting, implementing, and supporting the management, monitoring, & maintenance of CEG’s IT cloud infrastructure, including M365 SaaS, Azure and AWS IaaS, and the integration with on premises servers, software, and desktop systems across locations in the United States. These locations include corporate offices, datacenters, and wind and solar power generation sites owned and/or managed by CEG. The IT Infrastructure team ensures that this critical infrastructure is secure, highly available, right sized, and compliant with all regulatory guidelines by which CEG is governed. The M365 Azure Cloud Engineer is responsible for all aspects of M365 applications and services deployed within CEG, Office 365, Teams Telephony, Power Platforms, and SharePoint, which includes the monitoring and support of the overall service.
What You'll Be Doing
Systems/Applications Integration:
Microsoft 365 design and configuration to align closely with the Operations, Security, and Applications teams
Provide engineering support of a complex Azure Active Directory, including identity access management and AD topologies in a hybrid environment
Coordinate with the CEG compliance team to align M365 cloud IT processes with all regulatory requirements
Provide support for the maintenance of the companywide Disaster Recovery Plan
Analyze and ensure proper monitoring solutions are in place that will notify and alert the teams of potential issues that could impact the availability and functionality of critical systems and applications
Provide governance and mentoring for the team of IT engineers, technicians, and administrative personnel
Provide a strategic vision and roadmap to analyze and evaluate new technologies and solutions to enhance the IT environment to serve strategic and tactical business objectives
Coordinate and participate in planned maintenance activities to ensure IT systems are properly implemented and maintained according to best practices with minimal impact to the business
Coordinate with the team to develop and maintain proper processes, procedures, security, and system documentation according to industry best practices and regulatory requirements
M365 Cloud Infrastructure & Software Systems Oversight:
Governance, design, implementation, and support all M365 services (Exchange, OneDrive, Teams, Power-BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, Intune etc.)
Implement and coordinate the monitoring of M365 usage, tuning, security, and forecasting
Analyze and provide guidance for IT infrastructure patches and updates
Ensure the company’s data is sufficiently replicated and/or backed up to meet corporate and regulatory requirements
Provide technical foundational management of Teams Telephony
Maintain uptime by pro-active management and monitoring to ensure environment health, and minimize disruptions to mail-flow
Supporting the provision of Power Platform environments, working closely with the application support team
Providing a support service for users receiving incidents and work requests from Service Desk in addition to providing direct escalation support for end-users
Ensure awareness of and support adoption of the M365 roadmap, new tools and capabilities, and potential use within CEG
What You'll Bring
This role requires expert level knowledge of following:

Hybrid Microsoft Azure/on-prem Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS
Azure SSO Federation/Integration, SCIM automated user provisioning
Multi-Factor Authentication and conditional access policies
M365 Cloud license management
SSL certificate management
Cloud technologies: Azure, AWS, Google
Office Applications: Outlook, OneNote, Excel, Word and PowerPoint and integration points with SharePoint Online
This role requires a strong working knowledge of the following:
CLI and scripting skills (PowerShell, python, etc.)
Networking concepts (i.e., Firewalls, VLANs and VLAN tagging, IP subnetting, IP routing, VPN, etc.)
Email authentication/verification methods (SPF, DMARC, DKIM)
Encryption technologies (i.e. SSL, TLS, HTTPS, SSH, etc.)
Capacity and resource planning capabilities and knowledge of associated relevant tools
Regulatory compliance experience
Exceptional work ethic and time management skills
Ability to work well independently and/or as part of a team
Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service
Ability to travel 10% of the time, and on short notice
Participate in after hours on call rotation as necessary for problem resolution, and project management/installations

What Would Be Nice
An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a similar field is preferred. Professional certification and significant experience in key Information Technology competencies will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
5+ years of experience architecting, designing, implementing, administering, and supporting M365 Cloud environment, as well as Microsoft directory services and messaging platforms in an enterprise environment
Experience working in a NERC regulated environment
Clearway will not sponsor nonimmigrant visas for this position (H-1B, TN, E-3, etc.).
The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.
Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations
$124,000—$160,000 USD
