Job Summary:

Nights position during May-Nov, Day position during Dec-Apr

To order replacement parts for equipment repairs. Find the most inexpensive way to get required parts. Implement the fastest,

easiest, and safest way to handle the parts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent

  2. Previous parts experience, mechanical experience, prefer truck and/or heavy equipment, and computer experience

  3. Provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Purchases, stores, and issues spare parts for motor vehicles or equipment.

  2. Takes inventory of parts and equipment and maintains inventory records weekly

  3. Obtains purchase order number and assigns identifying number.

  4. Reads shop manuals.

  5. Telephones, email, fax, or contacts vendors by mail to order parts.

  6. Compares invoices of merchandise received.

  7. Stores purchased parts and issues parts to workers upon request.

  8. May requisition parts from central parts department for national organization.

  9. Dispatch personnel

  10. Operate forklift as needed

  11. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.

  12. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).

Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors

  1. Ensure OSHA safety and environmental regulation compliance

  2. Performs other duties as assigned.
