About Transmission and Distribution

Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will provide analytical support to the Distribution Engineering Automation (DEA) group in Distribution Engineering (DE). The candidate will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders within the company to support, track and manage processes and data requests, as well as review processes for efficiency and streamlining opportunities. Candidate will plan, develop, and coordinate design and implementation for new processes and projects for DEA.

Typical Responsibilities :

  • This position will gather, analyze and synthesize complex data for DEA after independent research and consideration of alternatives.

  • Create, develop and maintain MS Access and SQL databases and prepare associated reports.

  • Develop and conduct training for assigned and new programs and databases.

  • Interface with Distribution Automation Engineers and Analysts to ensure tracking and reporting mechanisms are current with Engineering Projects and provide recommendations in support of major programs, projects, or goals.

  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings for assigned projects, create and manage agenda and discussion topics, and track action items through completion.

  • Maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following SCE safety protocols and safe work practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in an analyst position.

  • Three or more years of experience utilizing advanced software and system functions to run queries and create reports.

  • Three or more years of experience with Microsoft Excel performing advanced functions such as VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, filtering/sorting, charts and graphing.

  • One or more years of experience with Microsoft Access database development, query writing, and Visual Basic for Application (VBA) programing.

  • One of more years of experience performing SQL queries (structured query language).

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Experience in documenting processes and procedures as well as creating process flows.

  • Strong Oral and written Communication skills.

  • Ability to accurately analyze information and make sound business decisions.

  • Experience prioritizing, project planning, organizing and coordinating heavy workloads while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail and meeting assigned deadlines.

  • Experience scheduling, and organizing large amounts of data within multiple assignments, tasks, and projects, and adjusting to changing priorities.

  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential matters.

  • Experience facilitating communication of analysis findings, including communicating issues or concerns to project team members and key stakeholders, including senior management and/or executives.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, and Access.

  • Experience in project management tools and methodology.
