In this job, you’ll lead/maintain/oversee the development and maintenance of budgets, forecasts, and expenditures for a large portfolio of major or multi-year projects and/or programs. You will participate in a team effort to achieve all or part of the project controls services described below. • Create, develop, and maintain project budgets/baselines, short- and long-term forecasts, and expenditure plans

• Perform complex data analytics and reporting by conceptualizing and implementing advanced SAS, Access, and VBA solutions to assist Project Managers and OU partners to monitor, manage, and forecast costs (e.g. budget, actual, commitment, contingency, earned value, cost per unit, cost impact analysis)

• Prepare and present complex results, alternatives, insights, and/or recommendations to support business decisions, to manage project costs and schedules, and to mitigate potential risks to major and/or multi-year project(s) and/or programs

• Analyze risk factors to identify the cost impact to the project so the appropriate steps can be taken to mitigate them. Accordingly update and maintain a cost risk register and evaluate level of contingency needed using appropriate methods

• Establish and maintain effective dialogue with clients and project team members and management to support, monitor and forecast budget performance. Ensure understanding of drivers of cost performance through regular interface and/or meetings with project team members as appropriate

• Prepare cost and performance data for use in the project routine/ad-hoc reporting, Long Term Planning, Corporate Goals, annual budgeting, and General Rate Cases; utilizing cost tracking software

• Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned

Qualifications

The must haves

· 5 years of analytical experience in monitoring, analyzing, processing, forecasting and documenting large complex data using spreadsheets and reports

· Experience with performing and presenting analysis (e.g., cost variance, cost per unit, and impact/trend analysis) to support business decisions

· 3 or more years of interfacing with high-level leadership

The preferred

• BA or BS degree in engineering, construction or project management, computer science, business, finance, or a related discipline such as math or statistics

• Experience with planning, monitoring, and reporting of budgets, forecasts, and expenditures for major or multi-year projects and/or programs

• Must have highly skilled and detail-oriented analytical abilities with exceptional organizational skills

• Active problem-solver instilled with a sense of urgency for training programs and projects large and small

• Strong verbal and written communication skills across internal corporate structures as well as be able to present technical information in simple, non-technical terms

• Ability to build productive and lasting relationships with internal and external partners

• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work on cross-functional teams, foster team commitment to tasks, and provide support and troubleshooting issues.

• Project Management Professional or Professional-Level AACE certifications (e.g., CCP or CEP)

• Advanced SAP / Business Intelligence experience extracting data and ad hoc reports

• Experience with capital or utility construction or regulatory environment

· Work Mode: Effective January 2022, the position’s work mode is remote . Employee is able to work primarily at home or remote however, the employee may be expected to come to an SCE facility on occasion.
