About this Role
The Electrical Engineer is a key leader in the development and daily operations of the Electric Vehicle Charging division of Energy Services West. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for pre-construction engineering activities, including electrical system design, site layout, and value engineering in coordination with construction teams. The Electrical Engineer will coordinate and direct engineering teams to complete detailed engineering packages. They will be responsible for team mentoring, managing projects, and partnering with business development leaders to build the EV business within Energy Services West.
What You'll Do
Lead the development of the EV charging electrical designs, participate in site visits, direct engineering processes, and develop design standards. Understand EV hardware, software, construction, and utility markets, translating this knowledge into comprehensive and tailored customer solutions. Review charging solutions and electrical/mechanical drawings to ensure compliance, quality, and safety standards. Coordinate with construction teams to facilitate value engineering activities. Provide technical support for internal program development presentations and customer-facing sales support. Ensure compliance with relevant policies, codes, and guidelines, including OSHA, NEC, and other applicable design standards. Demonstrate strong planning and execution skills, delivering on objectives within project parameters. Foster creative problem-solving, evaluating complex issues, and developing innovative solutions. Prioritize quality, safety, and customer service in all projects.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering. 3+ years of experience in EV Infrastructure assessment and design. 3+ years of experience in electrical estimating focused on EV infrastructure Single line diagram creation. Wire and Conduit sizing per relevant code requirements. Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in commercial infrastructure design/ renewable energy/ EV charging infrastructure. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of end-to-end commercial infrastructure design process. Knowledge of the permitting processes under various Authorities Having Jurisdictions (AHJs) Prior experience in utility design standard requirements (e.g. PG&E Greenbook and other utility equivalents), load studies and interconnection processes. Up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes, compliance, and classifications. Experience with Electrical Power System Studies and Arc Flash Software. Excellent English communication skills for effective interaction with team members, managers, and clients. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. Valid Driver's License with a good driving record. Valid authorization to work in the United States. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and AutoCAD.
