Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E’s gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.
This position will report to the Supervisor of Gas Quality Management – Data and work under the direction of a Senior Gas Engineer as a member of the Quality Management – Data team in San Ramon. As an Individual contributor working as part of the Quality Management-Data group, the successful candidate will be responsible of ensuring quality of GIS systems of records and Pipeline Feature Lists (PFLs) for PG&E’s gas transmission and distribution pipelines. The successful candidate will perform in variety of roles to ensure data accuracy and the safe operation of PG&E’s natural gas pipelines.
The successful candidate should be proficient in interpreting and understanding engineering drawings like but not limited to transmission construction as-built job packages, federal and state regulations, and company design standards. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and capable of following established processes and procedures.
Performs Quality Assurance (QA) assessments per business process and compliance requirements.
Collects and reports data of assessments in detail and concise narrative(s) to stakeholders.
Develops, organizes and modifies QA assessments procedures, protocols, reports and methodology.
Responds to business requests in a timely and effective manner.
Concurrently manages multiple work streams having overlapped and various schedules.
Locate and analyze information for gas pipelines in PG&E GIS gas systems.
Develops knowledge in other areas of specialty/discipline or continues to focus on one area and increases depth of knowledge.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
Job-related experience, 3 years
Experience with quality assurance audit development and execution
Basic understanding of natural gas operations, maintenance, engineering, design or construction activities
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and attention to detail
Strong written and oral communication skills
Experience on the MAOP Validation project
Ability to quickly adapt to new tasks and procedures
Experience in gas distribution industry, job-related
Experience in gas transmission, or related
EIT-Engineer in Training certification
PE-Professional Engineer license
