Organization Overview

The Land and Environmental Management Team includes a staff of approximately 500 land managers, surveyors, land rights and acquisition specialists, resource scientists, environmental field specialists and environmental planners. Our goal is to ensure that PG&E’s lands are well-managed and our property rights are protected, that we work closely with state and federal regulators to protect the unique landscapes and environmental resources found on these properties, and that we acquire and comply with all environmental permits required to conduct activities on these properties. Our work requires close integration between our team of planners, land specialists, and environmental scientists, as well as with law and environmental programs groups and the gas, electric, generation and Corporate Real Estate lines of business we support.

The Land and Environmental Management Team is responsible for providing land and environmental support to the Company’s approximate 140,000 miles of electric distribution lines, with a specific focus on the approximate 25,000 miles identified as within extreme and elevated wildfire risk areas. We establish goals related to safety, customer service, affordability, land management and environmental compliance that require a collaborative, cross-functional effort of employees across the company.

Position Summary

The Continuous Improvement Analyst for Environmental Management, Distribution and Shared Services team will support Environmental Project and Facility teams establishing and executing on process improvement efforts aimed at improving transparency to Environmental programs guidance and streamlining current operational processes to improve quality, execution consistency, and cost. The position will be responsible for supporting the development of the project plans, coordinating with the Information Strategy & Data Analytics team to understand data needs and data visualization requirements. This role will also be directly involved in creating training and guidance for future development and maintenance of the various tools. This position will also be involved in the following:

  • Support/lead Quality and Data Governance oversight or Environmental Work Management tool

  • Support Creation and Training on personalized dashboards for Environmental Subject Matter Experts

  • Develop/Monitor critical dashboards to target areas for improvement

  • Assisting in Procedure and Guidance document updates

The successful intern will have the opportunity to lead and/or support activities as described above working with a team of experienced Cultural Resource Specialist other Environmental Subject Matter Experts, business technology professionals. Additionally, the intern will gain knowledge of the larger Environmental Management organization and PG&Es core operations supported by the Environmental Organization.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earning a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental discipline, sciences, engineering, business, or related discipline. Students MUST be continuing education towards degree during and/or after internship.


  • 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA

  • Website Development & Microsoft SharePoint Experience

  • Experience with Salesforce & Einstein on Dashboard creation and utilization

  • Process Mapping Experience and Guidance Development Experience

  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

  • Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
