PG&E’s Information Technology (IT) organization is comprised of various unified departments which collaborate effectively to deliver high quality technology solutions.
The Digital Catalyst Team is a new enterprise team that is responsible for working collaboratively with the lines of business (e.g., Gas Operations, Electric Operations, etc.) to implement consumer grade mobile and analytical solutions across various user groups (e.g., field users, office workers, etc.).
This includes, but is not limited to:
Deploying best-in-class / rapid delivery capability for mobile & analytics solutions.
Simplifying, improving, and standardizing business work management processes.
Delivering high value analytics across all Lines of Business.
Rapid delivery of web and data products.
Digital Catalyst consists of a staff of highly skilled professionals working together to produce mobile & analytics solutions following an agile methodology and design thinking principles. We are a “start-up” department within IT and building a driven and creative development team. The Digital Catalyst Analytics team exists to unlock the value from PG&Es data. We are seeking a career-level IT Business Analyst (BA) who will support product teams to achieve their vision. The BA supports the team in writing, estimating and prioritizing user stories. They support the product owner in building a well-informed product roadmap to give transparency to leadership and set stakeholder expectations. This role works with team, users and technical leadership to maintain the technical integrity and quality of the product.
Represent the interests of the business to the team
Represent the product and the team to the business
Communicate with stakeholders regularly
Understand the business value of each user story
Arbitrate conflicting requirements from stakeholders
Provide the information that the team needs to estimate each story
Make yourself available to answer the team’s questions about requirements and business value
Clarify the requirements for the team
Gather feedback from stakeholders at the sprint review
Quantify/document meetings being held
Be able and competent to tell the story of the background and objective of sessions
Product Support: Interacting with the support team and leading cross-team relationships
Provide consulting in information technology to the client to identify and satisfy the business needs
Actively contribute to the business cases for IT projects and initiatives
Review design and technical specification documents for alignment with business solution
Balance team workload with business user and leadership expectations
BA/BS in Computer Science/ Information Systems, Business, Engineering, etc. or equivalent work experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in similar or related job functions (Information Technology or Business) that could be substituted by an advanced degree
Desired Education / Skills
