Department Overview

The SAP Work Management Design Team is an organization within the Business Technology – Enterprise SAP Department. We are specialized in PG&E’s SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Application. This department is under the umbrella of Business Technology of Corporate Services.

Position Summary

This expert SAP Enterprise Asset Management Functional Analyst position is responsible for providing expertise in PG&E’s Gas and Electric operation applications. The candidate will work closely with IT-Architects, Requirements Analysts, Developers, Testers and business subject matter experts. The primary responsibilities are to design and implement IT solutions for SAP work management modules. Candidate must be highly motivated and take initiative to lead and work with other team members.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science of job-related discipline or equivalent experience

  • SAP Plant Maintenance Module Functional Expertise

  • Minimum of 7 years of SAP functional or technical experience in Plant Maintenance (PM, aka. EAM)

  • Hands on experience with SAP HANA

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Technology project implementation

  • Expert knowledge of the Application Project Development Lifecycle

  • Skill and experience leading solution design and development on multiple SAP PM implementation projects

  • Experience in system integration

  • Hands-on configuration experience and solid technical understanding of PM objects and portal application

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired:

  • MBA or Master’s degree

  • Experience in Utility Industry

  • Primavera 6, Business Warehouse, and Materials Management

  • Experience in Click Schedule

Responsibilities

  • Solid understanding of deliverables in: project management, software enhancement development, compliance, operational/disaster recovery, operations and maintenance

  • Work with architects, clients, and peers to provide strategic guidance within the overall SAP technology roadmap and promote standard SAP solutions and best practices

  • Provide expert consulting to satisfy short-term and long-term business needs

  • Taking the leadership of a project and/or initiative

  • Rapidly perform business processes analysis needed for the projects or enhancements

  • Effectively coordinate the work on analysis and requirements for several projects

  • Provide expert consulting in information technology to the client and peers to identify and satisfy the business and company needs, while help anticipate potential problem and issues

  • Evaluate and document solution alternatives to business problems

  • Qualify (or define) business requirements for projects and enhancements

  • Facilitate, influence and build agreements on IT requirements and deliverables for multiple business clients

  • Performs system functionality gap analysis and provides RICEFW inventory for assigned projects

  • Cost estimating for RICEFW or enhancements

  • Analyze end-to-end complex business processes, create solutions, and documenting functional designs needs development, testing and support

  • Translate business requirements to technical requirements for the development team

  • Assisting with data conversion/migration, testing, training, and cutover activities

  • Provide knowledge transfer/training to other team members
