Department Overview

The Sourcing organization is the functional lead for the procurement of materials and services at Pacific Gas and Electric Company. The department collaborates with internal clients and suppliers managing $6 billion of annual company spend to develop mutually beneficial total cost solutions for goods and services. The department provides the following services to internal clients: procurement of goods and services, strategic sourcing and cost savings, contract management, supplier relationship management, supplier diversity planning, execution and outreach, compliance management, ongoing procurement field support and management of the procure to order cycle.

Position Summary

San Francisco is the preferred work location but may be open to other Bay Area sites.

You will provide an infrastructure that enables Supply Chain departments and their clients to conduct business efficiently in compliance with applicable regulations, policy and procedures. You will also monitor adherence to compliance obligations with respect to Supply Chain functions. The role also helps ensure that work processes incorporate policies and other controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage compliance strategies and regulatory positions.

  • Communicate (oral and written) recommendations and findings to high level leaders and officers

  • Ensure compliance to standards/ regulations and governance processes or programs established by the Company.

  • Evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of compliance programs.

  • Identify and remediate control deficiencies

  • Provide compliance oversight and support to Supply Chain clients, including communication and training, as needed

  • Serve as LOB contact for compliance-related inquiries and requests; determine, develop, and

administer compliance training

  • Report compliance and works with auditors / compliance analysts on company-wide programs and initiatives

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • 6 years of supply chain experience or related experience in areas such as risk, audit, or policy

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Desired:

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree

  • Knowledge of SOX regulations and compliance, regulations and

  • Utility industry experience

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, a team focus, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams

  • Knowledge of supply chain processes, policies and procedures, respective roles and responsibilities and contract management

  • Experience with policy and procedure development, including policy writing skills
