Preferred Academic Discipline(s): Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering
- Support the Engineering team in all activities which can involve performing investigations, energy analyses, investigating performance optimization for solar and wind farms, developing remote monitoring platforms, and warranty / performance calculations
Review engineering studies, calculations, and drawings
- Assist with creating engineering drawings, studies and calculations.
Assist in the development of Solar/Wind/Battery Storage projects by performing market research
Assist in preparing RFP responses
Assist in preparation of Special Use Permit amendments for various solar projects
Track land option payments and renewals for solar and storage project sites
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reporting associated with project finance loan compliance
Budget reporting and analysis
- Assist in populating key informational aspects of renewable energy information management system (Bluepoint/3 Megawatt)
The student must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Sophomore year or later, or graduate/Ph.D. program at an accredited institution taking at least one class in the semester prior to the internship program and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program.
Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or greater
Majoring in one of the above disciplines
Excellent Excel Skills
Ability to efficiently gather web-based information skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Self-starter – ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
Completion or relevant internship or other previous position preferred
Interest in energy industry / renewable energy
The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, with a high level of integrity, initiative, resourcefulness, and creativity.
Familiarity with renewable generation
Able to manage multiple tasks at once
Above average analytical ability
Should have a working knowledge of how Solar Panels work, and have an understanding of power generation
AutoCAD experience a plus
Must provide proper work authorization
As a condition of employment, must successfully complete a background check
