Position Overview:

This position supports the decommissioning of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS), for which SCE serves as decommissioning agent. The Program Analyst for Community Engagement Panel (CEP) Management & Stakeholder Engagement plays a key role in engagement with stakeholders in the communities surrounding San Onofre during decommissioning of the retired nuclear plant.

The Program Analyst will provide the SONGS decommissioning team with analytical data consistent with:

  • Managing logistics for quarterly public meetings of the SONGS decommissioning CEP

  • Mitigating reputational risk for SCE by simplifying technical nuclear data into easily understandable information that resonates with the general public

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Preparing slide decks and other materials on decommissioning for public meetings

  • Developing briefing material for the Chief Nuclear Officer for reference in public meetings

  • Managing vendors and facilitating the work of SCE org units in support of public meetings

  • Engaging with and fielding inquiries from anti-nuclear activists

  • Managing financial activities for the Stakeholder Engagement team including budget performance

  • Tracking and reporting of information consistent with CA political compliance regulations

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in the nuclear energy and/or electric utility industry

  • Five years of analytical or equivalent work experience

  • Experience using Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) for reports and presentations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training

  • Experience in communications and/or public affairs

  • Experience interacting with external stakeholders such as community organizers

  • Strong writing and proofreading skills

  • Experience simplifying technical subject matter for a general audience

  • Project management experience and/or certification

  • Experience collaborating effectively in a matrixed team environment

Comments:

  • Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship

  • Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field in the vicinity of San Onofre
