About this Role

QUES safely provides engineering, procurement and construction services for comprehensive infrastructure needs in the electric power, oil, and natural gas industries. QUES has the knowledge and expertise to handle a full spectrum of projects. From the most straightforward, single-component installation to the most complex, multi-state project, QUES handles the job safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. We are looking for an Electrical Distribution Engineer to provide engineering, design and drafting in the preparation of all projects assigned. They will also provide assistance/direction on engineering projects and establish priorities, while providing innovation to support the long-term vision of the department and company. What You'll Do

• Evaluate electrical power systems and design overhead/underground replacements per utility standards.

• Develop/modify accurate estimates and engineering drawings using Bluebeam (PDF Software), AutoCAD and/or GIS software.

• Meet with manager, engineers, and colleagues to review status of each project and determine an appropriate course of action.

• Visit site to determine the condition of existing utility infrastructure and collect necessary information for each project.

• Coordinate ROW acquisition, planning, and design functions through regular project updates for schedule adherence and work forecast.

• Additional duties as needed and/or assigned.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Structural, Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

• Ability to write business correspondence and communicate effectively.

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other managers, clients, customers, and local permitting agencies.

• I.T. certification or passed the FE examination.

• Prior internship with an electric utility.

• One or more years of electric utility experience.

• Experience working with AutoCAD.

• Experience with SPIDAcalc, O-Calc Pro, PoleForeman, and/or PLS-CADD.

• Working knowledge of distribution engineering software tools.

• Working knowledge of OH and UG fiber optic and other telecommunication distribution
