General Purpose

Coordinate and monitor plant fuel supplies and related logistics. Prepare annual, short-term and long-term delivery projections for PacifiCorp’s coal-fueled power plants. Verify and process payments for coal purchases. Coordinate Fuel Resources’ support of Net Power Cost testimony and data requests.


  • Administer fuel supply agreements and verify contract compliance.

  • Provide coal cost detail for regulatory filings and answer data requests from internal and external sources.

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual forecasts of Company coal deliveries.

  • Maintain a historical database of deliveries by plant and fuel source.

  • Provide oversight of corporate Fuel Management System: identify pertinent data related issues and coordinate with technical staff to ensure data integrity.

  • Resolve contract issues, identify and pursue cost reducing strategies.

  • Represent the company in meetings and proceedings with senior management and coal suppliers.

  • Support coal supply negotiations.

  • Compile, analyze and interpret operating data.

  • Support Corporate Accounting in developing monthly general ledger entries.


  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, business management ora related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A minimum of three years of related experience in one or more of the following areas: contract negotiation and administration, utility economics and accounting, pricing analysis, and/or coal industry management or logistics.

  • Strategic, analytical and proficient computer skills.

  • Ability to work with all organizational levels, regulators, fuel suppliers, and joint owners.

  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively through verbal and written means.

  • Project management and leadership skills, including the ability to work as a team member, maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.


  • Experience working with legal contracts and ability to interpret and apply contractual language.

  • General understanding of utility economics and accounting, as well as utility commission rules and regulations.

  • Fuel/coal contract knowledge.

  • Experience with coal royalties and taxes.

  • Advanced degree and/or CPA designation.

  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

​Hiring Range: $81,800 - $96,200

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 12.00% of salary.
