Administers program(s) and/or function(s) involving development, implementation, coordination, maintenance, communication and reporting.
Test, inspect, and update equipment.
Assist with the development, implementation, audit, communication, and training of safety programs and practices to ensure safe operation in compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
Investigate accidents and prepare accident reports.
Provide ongoing communication and training to employees and management.
Assist in policy and procedure development and documentation.
Compile and submit required reports.
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Analysis, assessment, and investigation skills to determine recommendations or plans of action.
Basic knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and practices; applicable federal, state, and local government laws, regulations, and OSHA standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including ability to consult and resolve internal or external customer issues which may be sensitive in nature.
Ability to work with all organizational levels including people with different styles and background and ability to work as a member of a team.
Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications.
Travel may be required.
Three years experience related to safety administration.
Special state, federal, or regulatory certifications or licensing.
Experience working in a power plant, process plant, or manufacturing facility.
