Job Summary

PSEG Nuclear Business Unit is looking for an Associate Technology Engineer with thorough knowledge of fundamental networking concepts, hands-on experience with network troubleshooting, technology solution design and implementation. The Associate Technology Engineer will focus on the full technology life cycle and will assist with designing, coding, configuring, testing, implementing, and supporting software and hardware systems.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities are:

  • Assists with the design, development, configuration, and testing of technology solutions to meet business or technology requirements.

  • Collaborates with other IT professionals to ensure proper integration of new technology solutions within the existing technology solutions.

  • Analyzes end user needs, business and technology requirements in the workload automation, and job scheduling areas; translates these requirements into technology solution capabilities and design.

  • Provides support toward resolution of escalated support tickets.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Evaluates existing technology solutions and platforms to provide recommendations for improving technology performance.

  • Collaborates with all stakeholders such as enterprise architects, software development, operations, cybersecurity, and infrastructure to integrate applications and hardware.

  • Ensures that the design and technology solution implementation meet security and QA standards. Provides support toward resolution of escalated support tickets.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Sciences, or a related field.

  • In Lieu of a degree, must have at least 6 years of relevant experience within IT field or related industry with reliance on technical expertise.

  • Minimum 2 years of professional technology solution engineering preferred

Demonstrates good leadership capabilities through technology solution ownership and adoption.

Participates in analysis of end-user needs and designs.

Required Competencies:

  • Ability to create both technical and non-technical end-user documentation for medium complexity technology solutions.

  • Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.

  • Flexible and adaptable to change in priorities as necessary.

  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing off the shelf products.

  • Experience with mission critical technology solutions.

  • CCNA, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network +, and/or CompTIA Security + preferred.
