Spire is seeking a Talent Development Analyst to join our team out of our St. Louis location. This role is responsible for creating a best-in-class learning-centered environment for all employees. The analyst is responsible for helping to develop, implement, and manage various Talent Development programs.

This position will assist in ensuring that Spire’s learning environments all have quality content, delivery and application, while also managing licensing requirements, timelines and deadlines, budgets and record-keeping. The analyst will help with our onboarding program, Leading Spire Series, educational assistance program, talent assessments (DiSC, EQ, MBTI, StrengthsFinder, etc.), training calendar, My Learning, and other Talent Development projects as needed to maximize the potential of our employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review My Learning’s (Spire’s learning management system) analytics and provide recommendations on how to optimize existing Talent Development offerings

  • Distribute assessments (DiSC, MBTI, EQ, StrengthsFinder, etc.) and analyze findings to assist with individual and team development

  • Assist with vendor management and budget coordination

  • Streamline training efforts so that all requests go through the Talent Development team for approval, coordination, facilitation, and execution in a company-wide calendar that tracks all training, as well as other Spire-wide initiatives (leadership retreat, National Gas Rodeo, field ops training, board meetings, board strategy session, etc.)

  • Research targeted development opportunities that arise through talent reviews, individual development plan trends and survey results

  • Create supplemental training materials such as instructor and participant guides, exercises/activities, job aids, and any supporting materials

  • Support Spire’s in-house educational assistance program by fielding employee questions, reviewing applications, and managing budget

  • Support My Learning (Spire’s in-house learning management system), as needed

  • Be a champion of Spire’s Talent Development opportunities/programs

  • Assist team with facilitation, measuring results, securing logistics and recommending optimizations for various Talent Development programs such as weekly onboarding, Leading Spire Series, Step Forward, etc.

  • Other responsibilities and duties, as needed to supplement the workload of our team

Essential Characteristics and Competencies

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Concentration in human resources, communication, talent development, learning and development, organizational development, or related field preferred

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • 2 years of experience in a relevant field such as adult education or training, communications, talent development, human resources, organizational development, etc.

  • Proficiency and skill in the daily use of a personal computer, including Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Passion for public speaking/facilitation

  • Self-motivated with the ability to organize and prioritize work with attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization

  • Emphasis on analytics to help assess how to provide training to resolve workplace issues, improve efficiency, meet company goals, and improve employee performance

  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously

  • High tolerance for workload demands, pressures and deadlines

  • Strong initiative and ability to independently lead processes and projects yielding quality results

  • Must be flexible and eager to adapt to change

  • Must demonstrate positive, respectful behavior in dealing with people at all levels, and a role model as a representative of the company

  • Ability to work across geographies as part of a team and display a positive attitude for this dynamic environment

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Travel 5-15%

  • Work is performed in a shared office environment

  • Typically, 8 hours per day, Monday – Friday
