Position Overview

This position will be the Telecom Asset and Configuration Business Analyst within the Grid Services Asset and Configuration Management team in the Grid Services Network & Telecom System Integration Services department within Southern California Edison (SCE)’s Information Technology organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing strategic, analytical, technical, and governance support for an ITIL Asset and Configuration organization.

  • Working with cross-functional subject matter experts, compliance specialists, and other business units to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation, analytical information, and conceptual design from which implementation solutions are reported and prepared.

  • Design presentations, dashboards, and performs business process analysis to ensure integration, communication, alignment and proper hand-offs.

  • Maintain the integrity of asset master data records. Primary support for cross-functional asset planning team, producing collaborative deliverables such as annual telecom capital infrastructure refresh plans and monthly status updates.

  • This individual will work with the Asset Management Senior Advisor as well as Engineers, Technical Specialists, and Leadership.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Works with inter-departmental subject matter experts to understand work process, operational, reportability, and resource requirements in relation to master data entry and maintenance.

  • Gathers, documents, analyzes, and draws conclusions on complex data and information after considering alternatives through independent research and analysis.

  • Acts as a key resource to department and division management.

  • Performs analysis to assist in determining strategy for process simplification and standardization across multiple tools.

  • Coordinates training and reviews of master data standards for new subject matter experts.

  • Responsible for the socialization and enforcement of standardization requirements for asset repositories.

  • Assists in the development, documentation and implementation of a master data governance plan.

  • Coordinates with program leads and subject matter experts to define standards for master data entry and maintenance.

  • Collates refresh plan inputs, facilitates asset ratings and narratives, and produces annual reports.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience in analytics and reporting.

  • 3 years’ experience with SAP EAM module, using BMC Remedy or equivalent ERP/CMDB systems (non-SAP).

  • Experience with relational databases to extract and analyze data.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or relevant technical discipline.

  • ITIL Certification.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
