Become a Supply Chain Associate, at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be supporting and developing sourcing strategies for the Indirect Procurement group within Supply Management. The Indirect Procurement group manages over $1.2 billion in annual spend for Information Technology, Customer Service, Professional Services, and Consulting Services. It’s challenging but deeply rewarding work. You’re interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills will be fully exercised as you manage a variety of strategies that focus on value creation, cost savings, continuous improvement, and risk mitigation. You will be responsible for supporting the development and optimization of sourcing strategies and continuous improvement initiatives. You will lead/participate in Terms & Conditions negotiations, competitive solicitation, supplier selection, achievement of applicable Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), contract negotiation and development .

  • Represents the Company as a primary contact and under general guidance from a manager or senior staff, performs transactions involving the sourcing, contracting, negotiation, purchase, lease, or licensing of materials, supplies, services, technology, and/or equipment.

  • Participates in and may direct the development, negotiation, and procurement of moderately complex purchase orders, change orders, requests for proposals, and contracts/agreements.

  • Negotiates Terms & Conditions and amendments to contracts/agreements as required.

  • Ensures achievement of the best value to the organization by coordinating the bid process and making recommendations for contract awards of moderate value.

  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with suppliers, contractors, and consultants as well as corporate managers, supervisory and non-supervisory personnel.

  • Interprets contract provisions, resolves unusual or politically sensitive disputes, and resolves complicated invoice and payment issues.

  • Provides advice, solutions, and recommendations on decisions having moderate to major impact on the organization.

  • May make final decisions consistent with organizational authorization levels.

  • On occasion may provide functional direction to other agents.


The Essentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or related field or two (2) or more years of experience in purchasing, contract management and/or negotiating contracts.

  • Do you have experience using Microsoft Office Word and Excel?

The Preferred

  • Experience using SAP software in a purchasing environment, and utilizing Ariba Sourcing, Contracting, and P2P modules.

  • Knowledge and decision-making experience of purchasing practices and policies, and knowledge of procurement contracts and standard terms and conditions.

  • Experience with industry best practices, standards, utility regulations, procedures and compliance as they relate to purchasing.

  • Experience prioritizing and balancing multiple projects simultaneously, and analyzing information and making strategic decisions regarding scope, impact, policy, development, and implementation.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including oral presentations, formal correspondence, contractual documentation, and negotiations.

  • CPM, CPSM, CPCM, CCCM, and/or PMP certification(s).

  • Ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices
