As the company’s corporate strategy group, the Strategic Planning team at SCE performs foundational analysis and planning that inform SCE’s thinking and actions, provides strategic leadership to align priorities and resources, and coordinates the transformational initiatives that advance or redefine SCE. In this job, you’ll play a key role in directly leading strategy activities for SCE.
This position is critical to advancing strategic objectives with responsibility for leading workstreams and content development, as well as overseeing or conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, on work that includes (but not limited to) monitoring/research of industry trends in the energy sector; development of strategies and scenarios; and exploration of new ideas, technologies, and business models.
More broadly, the role helps to shape Edison’s overall strategy, leveraging communication, project management, analytical, problem‐solving, critical thinking and creativity skills to help the team. In this role, you will utilize influencing skills by presenting for senior management, including members of the C‐suite and leadership at EIX and SCE.

Strategic analysis and projects:
Oversee research and information gathering on market, policy, technology, and competitive trends across electric industry, synthesizing key takeaways and impacts to our business.
Perform internal strategic assessments (e.g. SWOT analysis, benchmarking).
Develop insights, themes, hypotheses, or scenarios to inform our strategy.
Conduct independent, in-depth analysis of complex business problems, and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
Lead strategic projects, organizing cross-functional teams, developing project scope, analyzing key issues, performing financial analysis, and identifying potential solutions and recommendations.
Strategic planning process:
Facilitate project management and lead modules of the company’s annual strategic planning process.
Support the development of EIX Board strategy materials.
Strategy tracking and implementation:
Translate strategic priorities into clear objectives, plans, and required actions/initiatives.
Provide scoping, strategic framing, work planning and project management support for new strategic initiatives.
Monitor changes and track progress against strategic objectives through management of corporate strategy scorecard. Work with other OUs to align their plans with overall company direction by identifying gaps, reconciling discrepancies, creating linkages between efforts, and recommending new courses of action.
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, or a related discipline
Five or more years of combined experience in strategy/management consulting or corporate strategy roles (e.g., developing and implementing business strategies such as launching new products or implementing large scale companywide initiatives; venture investing and business plan evaluation; corporate development roles)
Being comfortable in an unstructured work environment and able to cut through uncertainty to proactively move ideas forward.
Experience communicating complex analyses and information to senior management.
Experience, knowledge and/or a strong curiosity in energy, e-mobility, and clean technologies.
Strong team orientation, ability to collaborate with teams in order to accomplish individual goals

Work mode : Effective January 2022, this position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
