Become a Sr Data Architect, Senior Advisor and build a better tomorrow. In this position, you will be responsible for aligning a company's business mission, strategy, and process to the IT landscape by establishing Products, Platforms, Services, Tools, or Applications that are supported by IT considering SCE’s financial, business, technical, and regulatory environment.

The successful candidate will lead/develop and manage the core DATA technology domain strategies, road maps and technology architectural deliverables related to data technologies for the enterprise in alignment with required business capabilities as well as define and manage enterprise DATA standards and participates in the governance of those standards. You will lead in the development and management of DATA STRATEGY steering committees and maturity assessments of the DATA technology capabilities across various portfolios. Participates and supports the development of an enterprise DATA strategy that aligns technology with business cases for proposed large, complex programs and projects and GRC Southern California Edison (SCE).

  • Understands data-centric technologies and strategic thinking, road mapping and technology strategic planning deliverables as well as how to align enterprise business capabilities with IT technology strategic domain plans and to provide data-centric technology capabilities to support value-based technology decisions.

  • Leads the data-centric technology architecture strategy domain teams and works closely with EA and operations as well as other IT teams to ensure that the data-centric technology under consideration supports the business direction by defining multiple technology options to new and maturing business capabilities and understands the financial, legal and sourcing impact of technology architecture alternatives.

  • Understands the enterprise political climate, responds to political changes and articulates the proper technology direction and integration across the enterprise and influences key business stakeholders, executives, directors, process owners, and program and project managers to ensure that program/ EA/operation technology objectives are met while providing an escalation point for technology decision making on enterprise architectural governance issues.

  • Responsible for the development of data-centric enterprise architecture technology strategies, approaches and guidance of overall enterprise technology patterns, participates and guides technology reviews, gains acceptance of enterprise technology solutions and informs key stakeholders of review outcomes and governance technology decisions. Additionally, responsible for supporting the development of cost estimates, spending plans and business cases in support of implementations. Responsible for interacting with standards bodies and external user groups concerned with data centric technologies.

  • Provides technology leadership and governance and directs/monitors the work of IT teams on strategic programs and projects as well as monitors and guides the enterprise strategic technology trending and roadmap directions

  • Educates, plans, coordinates and communicates data-centric, enterprise technology domain principles, frameworks and governance decisions at multiple levels of management and ensures compliance with Architecture governance standard as well as encourages enterprise technology solution reuse.

  • Accepts business requirements and direction from enterprise architects to align appropriate technology domain strategy to the business and IT strategies and to ensure that the portfolio directions support the direction of the technology domain as well as helps identify, addresses, communicates and document any deviations from technology standards.

  • Understands associated enabling data-centric domain technologies as well as to develop the overall integration points of the technology leveraging business capabilities, application, information, and security architectures.


The essentials

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.

  • 10 years of IT architecture or technical experience supporting DATA DOMAIN.

The desired

  • MBA/MA/MS degree in engineering, computer science, information systems or equivalent experience.

  • Certified in any EA Framework

  • TOGAF Certification
