Become a Senior Scrum Master - Agile Delivery Lead at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. You will be part of the Digital & Business Transformation team in the Information Technology department of Southern California Edison (SCE). You will lead new product development on multiple teams practicing agility with the goal of disruptive innovation through user-centered design and agile based methodologies coupled with advanced technology platforms.

You need to be able to on-board quickly and determine the state of the team and lead them from the inception through deployment phases.

  • Establish goals and a create the plans for Scrum Teams and help drive the team towards achieving those goals as a servant leader.

  • Work daily with Product Owners, Developers, Designers, Business customers, and IT collaborators.

  • Creatively maneuver in undefined processes while inspiring change to existing Waterfall processes.

  • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering results.

  • You thrive in environments that are unconstrained and undefined; and have the ability to be flexible, and ready to address challenges head-on.

A day in the life – Get ready to think big, work hard and shine bright!

  • Understand key business objectives and strategy of the product and be able to communicate this to the team and stakeholders.

  • Facilitate and lead Agile ceremonies while coaching on the Agile framework (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and review/retrospective).

  • Coach and mature team members in their roles

  • Train team members in Agile values, principles, and frameworks

  • Support the team in achieving product goals through publishing ROI, budget, costs, resource planning, product presentations, and backlogs through enterprise tools such as HP ALM Octane and UMT360

  • Facilitate discussion with the Product Owner and development team to refine product backlog and define sprint backlogs with the team while protecting the development team from distractions.

  • Track and monitor team health such as burndown charts, team satisfaction, outputs, and quality of releases on an ongoing basis.

  • Active contribution to the Agile Practice to further mature the organization through participation of leading discussions, topics and training of Agile practices.

  • Lead process-improvement efforts to strengthen partnerships across Core-IT, business-stakeholders and further drive Agile adoption.

Qualifications

The essentials

  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in a Technical/ Engineering environment

  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in a Business Project Management / Scrum Master role, performing as a Scrum Master in a Waterfall and/or Agile environment

  • Scrum Master certification (e.g. CSM) or equivalent

  • Experience orchestrating large, long-term projects/ products with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and outcomes with corporate-wide impact with major financial or operational impact.

  • Accomplished results through matrixed and/or cross-functional teams/ partners consisting of developers, program managers, product managers, vendors, analysts, and other domain experts

  • Interacted regularly with senior management. Acted as a key consultant to senior management

  • Established project/ product objectives with product manager.

  • Managed timelines, risk analysis, milestones, deliverables and budgets.

  • Experience driving problem solving and issue resolution.

The preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related major/ subject area.

  • Hands-on experience with Agile technologies and tools – Jira/ Rally/ HP ALM Octane/ Confluence/ Aha

  • Experience and basic understanding of DevOps technologies and tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub).

  • Advanced Scrum Master certifications (e.g. A-CSM) or equivalent

  • Project Management Certification (e.g. PMP – PMI) or equivalent

  • Product Owner certification/ experience

  • Software development background/ experience

  • Experience applying Design-thinking principles.

  • Experience leading multiple product/ project teams in Mobile, AI/ML, Robotics Process Automation, Salesforce Lighting capabilities, other Emerging Technologies or SaaS Technologies

  • Experience maturing team practices driving project management responsibilities through team members to building the right products the right way

  • Developed business plans, objectives and initiatives for the organization.

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
