Position Overview

This position will support the implementation and adoption of the new California law called the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) within the Human Resources organization and directly impacts the employees within SCE and EIX.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate meetings and document the “as-is” manual processes and procedures impacted by CCPA.

  • Research, recommend, and document “to be” processes and procedures for personal information data collection, disclosure, and revisions that reach across multiple area of Human Resources, Law, and Ethics & Compliance.

  • Create and track project deliverables, schedules, and risks. Define and document personal categories, compliance requirements, and key action items.

  • Gather, analyze, and document personal information data maps. Research and document new and ongoing controls needed to ensure personal data security due diligence.

  • Provide input into HR’s recommended technical requirements including automation and technology opportunities in partnership with IT and other impacted Organizational Units.

  • Work with HR Data Subject Matter Experts to track progress on data mapping efforts, process changes, and new procedure development as well as adoption.

  • Prepare and revise CCPA stakeholder presentations that outline project status, recommendations, and key decisions using PowerPoint and Visio.

  • May manage a key project component or work stream in support of overall project objectives.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related discipline.

  • 5 years of experience providing analytical support through the development of process maps, data research and consolidation and/or development of procedure documentation.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or Project Management Professional (PMP).

  • Broad knowledge of project management, tools, and practices.

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio (or other process design tools).

  • Experience working on employee data and HR compliance requirements.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills including the ability to deal with all levels of senior leadership while maintaining composure under the pressure of tight deadlines in an ever changing environment.

  • Strong written and process documentation skills.

  • Experience collaborating with company stakeholders and project team members to meet/exceed challenging milestones and deadlines; strong team orientation.

  • Strong decision making skills and ability to influence others.


  • Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.

  • Travel within CA may be required for this position.

  • This is a full-time, project regular position estimated to go through October 2020. This position is eligible for company benefits and incentives during the duration of the assignment.
