Become a Senior Manager of Safety, Environmental, and Operational Audits at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s operations audits, with a particular emphasis on safety audits. The Senior Manager works closely with the Director of Operational audits to identify key operational risks and trends and develop the operations audit plan. You will be responsible for managing a team of approximately 5 auditors.

Manage and allocate resources to conduct Operational Audits to provide senior management with an independent assessment of the system of internal controls, reliability of operating information, and compliance with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) requirements including laws, regulations, and the corporate standards of conduct.
Develop and provide recommendations to senior management that strengthens internal controls, enhance compliance, reduce risks and improve operations.
Maintain frequent contact with inter- and intra-department managers and supervisor and senior management; conducting periodic meetings with executive management including Directors and Vice Presidents; and acting as the department head or division manager in his/her absence.
Conduct annual risk assessments at various SCE Business Functions to use as a basis for the development of the annual audit plan.
Perform consulting engagements as requested by management and offer recommendations to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
Bachelors of Science Degree or higher in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering or similar field.
Five or more years of experience managing or supervising an organization, unit, or large-scale project.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) or able to obtain within 18-months of hire.
Ten or more years of safety experience (industrial or system safety preferred).
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
Five or more years of Electric Utility or other similar industry auditing experience.
Experience using strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to lead multiple projects, including assessing risks, developing work plans, prioritizing, and scheduling work activities to support concurrent projects.
Strong oral and written communication skills as well as presentation skills to effectively communicate and interact with personnel at all levels, including executive management, throughout the organization.
Ability to negotiate and influence others.
Ability to work effectively and be flexible in a variety of situations, including those involving uncertainty, lack of information, and changing circumstances.
Attention to detail and ability to manage complex issues.
Advanced knowledge of the audit function and audit techniques; computer assisted audit techniques, statistical sampling, audit protocols, generally accepted auditing standards, business risk assessment principles, control self-assessment techniques, audit report writing and documentation.

This position may require up to 15-20% vehicle travel (possibly overnight) throughout SCE service territory.
Relocation may apply to this position.
This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position – Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
