Position Overview

The Senior Infrastructure Data Center Service Manager is a key member of the Infrastructure Service Manager organization that is accountable for service and performance management of managed service providers that provide infrastructure services that concentrates on the design, architecture, implementation and operations of a customer facing 24x7x365 Data Center infrastructure.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Ensures managed service providers deliver effective Data Center services that include Data Center facilities management, network operations, network security, mainframe and midrange servers, storage, middleware, non-application software, and operations that support the applications and business processes as required.

  • Facilitates collaboration and decision making between operations and Technology Architecture in the critical evaluation and selection of the software and hardware components of the infrastructure to produce technology roadmaps that address technology requirements, non-functional requirements, meet security requirements, monitor services for the data center, and provide for deployment and provisioning services.

  • This position ensures performance, availability, reliability, and serviceability levels meet SCE objectives. Ensures that physical architecture and configuration of compute assets meets company objectives for asset utilization by balancing capacity needs with cost optimization of assets.

  • Responsible for performing in-depth analysis of infrastructure compute assets and identifying opportunities for continuous improvements that increase performance and utilization while decreasing overall cost. Responsible for aligning compute services with projected capacity demands.

  • Ensures managed service provider provide technical leadership, program and project level management oversight in the planning, implementation, operation and control of large, complex UNIX, Linux, AIX, VMware, and mainframe technologies that support server computing capabilities for applications that provide functionality to end users as well as external customers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Twelve (12) or more years of experience in IT, that includes managing, supervising or leading an organization, unit, or teams.

  • Six (6) or more years of experience related to Data Center Operations, including Data Center facilities management tools and processes.

  • Extensive knowledge of IT computing management solutions, tools and /or extensive experience with capacity management of large IT systems and solutions.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Experiencing in managing large IT budgets that include multi-year capacity planning, asset management and hardware/technology refresh.

  • Experience in managing service/performance of managed service providers.

  • Collaborative / highly developed relationship management and consulting skills.
