Become a Senior Environmental Advisor , Air Quality at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job you’ll function as an internal expert within the air quality compliance discipline and will provide consultation and expert advice to our internal and external partners on air quality and greenhouse gas matters. You will also be supporting other air quality compliance programs at SCE’s power generating stations, service centers, substations, and other locations within our service territory.

Build a strong customer-focused team and collaborate with various cross functional teams to improve air quality compliance programs.
Author compliance procedures and lead internal and external partners to ensure regulatory compliance.
Interpret regulatory requirements, and clearly explain compliance obligations to non-technical partners.
Negotiate with regulatory agencies and internal/external partners to resolve differences.
Develop and deliver educational and training programs to empower field personnel to meet SCE’s compliance obligations.
Support other compliance activities within other air quality compliance programs as needed.
Qualifications
The essentials
Ten or more years of experience in performing technical analysis and/or regulatory compliance within environmental, science, or engineering fields.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
The preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, environmental science, or related engineering or science degree.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel such as the ability to nest multiple functions together to build dynamic formulas and custom visualizations using pivot tables, combo charts, form controls and formula ranges and formatting rules.
Experience in CEQA/NEPA and air quality regulatory compliance programs at the federal, state and local levels.
SCAQMD’s Certified Permitting Professional (CPP) license, SJVAPCD’s Certification of Air Permitting Professional (CAPP) license, or similar certificate programs utilized by other air agencies that demonstrate strong knowledge and regulatory interpretation skills.
California P.E. License
Demonstrated strong analytical and critical thinking skills that enable accurate evaluation of complex situations and lead to sound business decisions.
Excellent presentation, critical thinking and oral and written communication skills.
Experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to solve technical problems.
Ability to travel as needed for projects throughout SCE territory.
Eagerness to learn, have fun and grow in to increased program management responsibilities.
You should know
This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
