Position Overview :
This is a full-time, project regular position for an estimated duration of 24 months. This position is eligible for company benefits and incentives during the duration of the assignment.
The Senior Employee Relations Consultant (HRC3) will work with all levels of leaders, line management/supervision, and employees to identify, analyze and influence the effective resolution of employee relations matters. In addition, he/she will provide recommendations regarding appropriate employment actions to assist in maintaining a productive work environment, achieving optimal performance and minimizing risk.
This position will be part of an active employee relations team that is seeking to reduce employee issues, increase employee engagement and assist leaders and employees to create a safe and healthy work environment for everyone where people feel encouraged to do their best work. On occasion, the Senior ER Consultant will coordinate with Labor Relations, Ethics, Legal and others to resolve employee concerns and address work environment opportunities. The ability to make sound decisions and demonstrate a high ethical standard is paramount in this role.
This position will work to resolve issues through mediation and consultation. Having an understanding of HR policies and state and federal requirements is a must in order to mitigate risk. This position will work directly with leaders and employees to coach, counsel, set expectations and improve performance. He/she will work with management in the utilization and implementation of SCEs Corrective Action tools when necessary.
Responsibilities to include:
Buildingeffective working relationships with employees and leaders
Underthe supervision of the Employee Relations Manager, conducts confidentialinvestigations to determine the facts of employees’ and leaders’ concerns anddevelops recommendations accordingly
Providesguidance to supervisors and managers at all levels related to corrective actionand assists with administering/ implementing actions as required
Assistsin interpretation of policies
Recognizestrends, advises and recommends courses of action with all levels of leadership
Appropriatelymanages resignation and termination procedures
Coordinateswith SCEs Legal Department, Strategic Business Partners, and Ethic’s Department.
Performother duties and responsibilities as assigned
Minimum Qualifications :
Tenyears of HR experience working with state/federal laws & regulations.
EmployeeRelations experience leading confidential investigations, addressing concerns,preparing recommendations for reviewregarding appropriate disciplinary action, including termination of employment.
Desired Qualifications :
Bachelor’sdegree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or related field orequivalent combination of training or experience.
HRCIand/or SHRM Certification, preferred.
Experiencewith Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) which may include SAP, Navex,and Success Factors or other similar HRIS systems.
Experiencetrending information and developing recommendations.
Abilityto construct concise and well-written communications.
Ensure compliance of company policies andpractices by responding to inquiries regarding policy and procedureinterpretation.
Determine root cause and develop proactivestrategies to effectively reduce undesirable activity and sustain positiveresults.
Cultivate a strong client oriented servicerapport with HR Business Partner teams, and other internal partners, that isbased on a high level of collaboration and inclusion.
Support a fair and inclusive workplace thatsafeguards the company’s employment brand by ensuring that employee and companyinterests are handled in a fair and consistent manner.
