Become a Senior Cybersecurity Specialist – Cloud Security at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll will be responsible for the evaluation and management of cybersecurity cloud security monitoring technologies to validate and ensure secure configuration of SCE’s cloud computing and other technology infrastructure environments. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Design, implement and develop advanced cloud security detection and monitoring solutions.

  • Provide deep technical cybersecurity domain expertise with respect to cloud security, threats, and continuous monitoring.

  • Validate the strategic placement of network monitoring sensors throughout the SCE network including administrative, grid, lab, and cloud network environments.

  • Develop existing cloud detection capabilities and evaluate new approaches to Cloud security enhancements and processes.

  • Prepare and deliver executive-level communications representing cloud threats and advanced network detection recommendations both within IT and across all organizational units (OUs).

  • Performsecurity and data log analysis to capture information needed to investigate and research events of interest for incident response.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and growth of the CSOC (Cybersecurity Security Operations Center), Incident Response tools/technologies, processes, and procedures.


The essentials

  • Five (5) or more years of Information Technology or related technical experience.

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in the field of Cybersecurity OR cloud infrastructure configuration in enterprise scale networks.

  • Experience with cybersecurity OR cloud monitoring tools.

The preferred

  • TS/SCI clearance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in specialized field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Possess one or more of the following Information Security certifications: CISSP, GSEC, CRISC, GREM, CCSK, Microsoft Azure Certifications, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or GSEC.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.

  • US Citizenship required as part of Critical Infrastructure security protocols.
