Position Overview

The Senior Contracts Administrator will partner with Supply Management, Law, Credit & Risk, and other key stakeholders to evolve SCE’s strategy and processes for contract development & negotiations. The Senior Contracts Administrator assesses & implements enhancements to the contract negotiation process and the SAP Ariba Contracts tool, which impacts functionality for end users. This position also provides expert advice to Supply Management and other stakeholders during contract negotiations, which could impact the final negotiated terms with a supplier.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Perform project management function to optimize SCE’s suite of contract documents and the contract review & negotiation process.

  • Evaluate and implement improvements to the Ariba Sourcing Module and provide training & support to users of the tool.

  • Provide advice and input during contract negotiations to support procurement projects for Supply Management.

  • Monitor and manage the team’s workload, provide reports to leadership and other stakeholders, and give day-to-day support and guidance to team members.

  • Regularly participate in leadership forums and meet with leaders and subject matter experts in various stakeholder groups to maintain alignment and partner on strategic initiative for the department.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of experience leading/managing projects, contracts, and/or programs utilizing various project management tools to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Three years of Supply Chain and/or contract negotiation experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelors/Masters in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or related discipline or Juris Doctorate.

  • CPSM, CPCM, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Agile certifications.

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge creating and improving processes & procedures.

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with multiple departments to review, modify, and/or optimize business processes.

  • Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement projects.

  • Demonstrated experience compiling, analyzing, and synthesizing multiple data sources into practical recommendations for decision-makers.

  • Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, and providing input into negotiated contracts.

  • Demonstrated experience presenting recommendations and other communications regularly to managers and other stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated experience executing projects to completion on an independent basis.

  • Demonstrated experience working effectively within a team environment.

  • Demonstrated experience providing guidance and training to team members and other stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated experience with SAP Ariba.
