About Corporate Security:

The primary responsibility of Corporate Security is to protect worker safety, prevent crime on SCE property, and mitigate risks of physical attacks to critical infrastructure. Physical security operations within Corporate Security covers contract security officer services, the Edison Security Operations Center (ESOC), investigation of security incidents and threats, intelligence-gathering, the SCE Badging Office, NERC Physical Security compliance, and background investigations and PRAs.


This position works in collaboration with internal and external resources and SME’s to develop, track and report on physical security programs and projects across business units. You will coordinate between field teams and responsible project manage physical security programs, brief key stakeholders, and support operating unit activity in cooperation with technical leads within corporate security, other business units, and vendor teams to accomplish projects on time and on budget. The selected candidate will jointly collaborate with various departments within Corporate Security, IT Telecommunications, Substation Construction & Maintenance and various business units in support of Corporate Security programs and projects.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for Physical Security programs

  • Manage development, implementation and evaluation of physical security programs

  • Manages and directs cross-functional development teams to address issues and solve problems involving physical security standards and processes

  • Develop metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of security programs and personnel.

  • Conduct security assessments

  • Forecast needs to support business goals and objectives

  • Make recommendations for new processes and procedures

  • Facilitate field team project initiation, execution and completion

  • Participate in the field as a member of an Incident Management Team

  • Liaison with internal and external customers and stakeholders

  • Is a leader in communicating, creating and maintaining SCE standards in employee and public safety


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business, Technical Discipline or related field of study.

  • Ten years of Security or law enforcement experience

  • Experience conducting security assessments.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business, Technical Discipline

  • ASIS CPP, PSP or similar physical security certification or experience

  • 12 or more years of Security or law enforcement experience


  • Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties
