In this job, you’ll lead the design and implementation of efforts to develop and monitor corporate metrics and targets, analyze key drivers of success, guide efforts to estimate and evaluate the impact of metrics associated with improvement opportunities/efforts, and work with all major Operating Units (OUs) across the company to create and execute performance improvement plans. You’ll work with OU performance management teams to guide development and implementation of a more consistent and repeatable approach to performance management that provides an integrated view across operating units. The approach will draw on data and analytics insights and high impact driver trends to explain performance and formulate viable corrective actions that address root cause and improve performance outlook. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Lead efforts with the OUs to mature and advance an enterprise wide approach to evaluating, explaining, and reporting on performance at both the corporate and OU level via an integrated operations management system

  • Identify and lead collaborative efforts with OUs to develop Corporate goals and other critical KPIs and associated targets that draw from Operational and OU performance management expertise, data analysis insights and key drivers of performance. Provide guidance to OUs regarding operationalization of metrics and maturing of performance management practices

  • Participate in senior management OU level operations performance reviews and provide guidance to OU business planning and performance management groups to ensure linkage of OU-level performance metrics and reviews with the enterprise level KPIs reviewed at the senior leadership Operations Review Forum

  • Provide direction to and drive interactions with OU performance management organizations to ensure tracking and reporting on metrics, build out capabilities to conduct root cause analyses, and identify and prioritize corrective actions

  • Develop effective Board level and senior executive presentations on operational performance and risk indicator KPIs


The essentials

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, economics, business, engineering, or related field of study

  • Ten (10) or more years of experience interpreting analytical results and using results to facilitate decisions

  • Seven (7) years in operational expertise and/or project management

  • Seven (7) years of experience leading a cross-functional team

  • Experience managing and/or leading company performance improvement projects in attainment of company goals for a department, OU, or company-wide

The preferred

  • Experience with companywide initiatives influencing implementation of objectives, processes, and projects

  • Ability to drive and implement change in a change-resistant environment

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to coordinate and lead meetings

  • Strong logical thinking and quick learning abilities

  • Experience developing and delivering presentations for senior officers

  • Knowledge and/or experience with industry wide methods to manage utility performance

  • Experience conducting performance analysis using data analytics software (e.g. Statistical Analysis Systems (SAS))

  • Experience analyzing data to determine operational performance and determining corrective actions to address gaps

  • Familiarity with various technical programs, ranging from visual dashboards to statistical programs.

  • Experience developing and implementing new systems, processes, and/or operational program/activities
