A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Leads activities for development, implementation, and coordination of all technology planning activities by guiding the following activities: business capability planning, identification of business outcomes and objectives, requirements solicitation, business case development, process analysis and solution planning.

  • Maintains the strategic view of the business, technology outcomes and how the technology initiative delivers on those outcomes. Prioritizes across the enterprise to ensure the highest-valued investments are sourced and completed. Helps to identify demand conflicts and recommends escalation of conflicts, where appropriate for resolution.

  • Acts as the primary connection between IT planning and the business. Proactively advises business clients on IT services and technologies by delivering clear, relevant, and timely planning communications to those clients.


The essentials

  • Ten (10) years of experience leading key business initiatives, including performing IT portfolio and client relationship management, and developing strategic technology plans in support of key business objectives.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Leadership, Computing Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field of study.

  • Ten (10) years of experience working in Information Technology for an electric utility.

  • Ten (10) years of experience leading projects or key business initiatives.

  • Seven (7) years of IT portfolio and client relationship management experience for an electric utility.

  • Strong experience in Transmission & Distribution (T&D) management systems and advanced technologies.

You should know…

  • Effective January 2022, this position’s work mode is Hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
