Become a Security Systems Senior Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. This dynamic position is central to the team, immersing you in the technical administration of the Genetec Security Center platform. You’ll be responsible for leading business resilience technical functions, managing Video Management systems, utilizing Decision Support Tools, overseeing D3 Case Management, and maintaining other essential technical systems that drive Corporate Security operations. As a technical expert and a key collaborator, you'll build strong relationships across the organization, working closely with Senior Leadership, Advisors, Field Technicians, Project Managers, IT Network Engineers, and Technical Specialists to ensure seamless operations throughout the SCE territory. In addition, you’ll exhibit decisive and critical thinking abilities, make informed decisions that hinge on data from external vendors and align with internal business requirements of clients.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Oversee the administration, programming, and troubleshooting of the Genetec Security Center Platform, ensuring its security and operational integrity, while providing technical support for seamless operation.

  • Develop and implement code for the D3 Case Management system, acting as a support liaison to ensure efficient case management.

  • Provide technical support across the Corporate Security portfolio, ensuring all systems meet compliance, timeliness, and quality standards through strong vendor relationships.

  • Proactively collaborate on regular security system testing across SCE's service territory to ensure proper function and prevent potential breaches.

  • Advise on solutions across diverse business and technical areas, demonstrating versatility in optimizing Physical Security Protection Systems, including reporting, audits, and data requests, which are essential for maintaining transparency, accountability, and the safeguarding of organizational assets and operations.

  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

The essentials

  • Ten or more years of combined experience in corporate security, security systems, IT network operations, and/or critical business operations.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information Systems or related field.

  • Video Management and Physical Access Control Systems Certification.

  • Experience with D3 Case Management, Object Oriented coding, and SQL.

  • Experience collaborate with diverse teams across the organization.

  • Excellent communication, strong relationship-building, and top-tier customer service skills.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
