The Reporting Financial Analyst will be part of the Operational Finance group within the Finance organization at SCE. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing research and analyses impacting corporate and organizational unit (OU) financial reporting, operational activities, and management decision making. Other responsibilities include designing and developing new reports, reporting tools, solutions, and processes, advising clients on technical and analytical strategies to address issues, advancing existing reporting processes and serving on cross-organizational teams to support decision making within and outside our organization.
Typicalresponsibilities will include:
Gathersand consolidates financial data from various sources and prepares summaryreports. Accountable for the accuracy and integrity of findings andrecommendations.
Utilizefinancial data to perform cost trend analyses based on historical andforecasted data to support operational decision-making and continuous costimprovement without supervision.
Comparesactual to budgeted costs to support variance analysis and forecasting.
Supports presentations given by other analysts andsupervisors.
Builds detailed cost analysis expertise and performs costtrend analysis using historical and external data to support operationaldecision-making and continuous cost improvement with direction andsupervision.
Effectively works within a team environment.
Builds detailed analysis and reports utilizing Excel, Word,PowerPoint, & Access.
Maintain a safety conscious work environment byfollowing Edison safety protocols and safe work practices; and performing otherresponsibilities and duties as assigned.
Bachelor'sDegree in finance-related field (Accounting, Finance, Economics, orequivalent).
Musthave at least three years of experience with financial and/or quantitativeanalyses.
Typicallypossesses three years of experience working with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated experience utilizing and developing financial models.
Demonstrated experience with forecasting and performing costbenefit/trend analysis.
Demonstrated experience building reports and ability to track,analyze and maintain the accuracy and integrity of large amounts of data usingExcel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and databases.
Demonstrated experience utilizing SAP.
Demonstrated experience communicating financial information tovarious audiences including senior management.
Ability to work with confidential information and maintainappropriate levels of confidentiality.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment, includingidentifying project needs, prioritizing multiple projects and following throughall assignments.
Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate withpeers, clients, management, and other organizations.
