Portfolio Analyst in support of the activities for Network & Telecom System Integration Services. Provide project support for several engineering and integration service providers while tracking the vendor capital portfolio. Network & Telecom System Integration uses sourced partners to augment SCE labor for the integration, configuration, and deployment of complex and critical networks and carrier class telecommunication systems to support SCE.
Provide project and analysis support for vendor resources for network and telecom capital projects for engineering and design reviews, network architecture, and electrical equipment specifications, field audits, inspections, complex scheduling, resource management, vendor coordination, cost estimating, quotation review, equipment procurement, equipment installation and cutovers, problem resolution, documentation, invoice review and client communications.
Assist the portfolio manager with all vendor sourced capital work in support of network and telecom system integration, configuration, and deployment portfolio of the Company’s telecommunications and network system infrastructure including planning, design, estimating, project management, installation, inspection, and documentation. This includes facilities and systems related to major Transmission and Distribution Substation projects, engineering and configuring new facility and remodel telecommunication and network projects, and the ongoing upgrade and replacement of the Company’s vast telecommunication and network infrastructure as well as third party facilities.
Portfolio support for multiple vendor contracts that equates to more than $24M in multi-year purchase orders. Represents the Company with contractors, suppliers, other departments, and/or other parties as required for telecommunications work across SCE that have major financial or operational impact to the business unit or Company.
Decisions are made frequently on short- and long-range issues with focus on long-range strategic plan and multi-year budget and resource forecasting. Ensure that the work is properly identified and that relevant data is utilizes for staffing projects appropriately. Serve as an interface with Engineering to resolve information issues, receive updates, and provide status reports for all vendor-sourced work. Attend job sites, job walks, and escort vendors on behalf of Grid Services.
Update and modify the Telecommunications Construction Schedule for the department, Edison Carrier Solutions, and all sourced work to vendors. Update the schedule based upon input received from Telecom Engineers, Telecom Portfolio Managers, Utility and ECS Field Construction forces, all vendor labor, and Material Management and Logistics. Validate, track, and ensure that the schedule maintains a high level of data integrity, accuracy, budget, and relevancy.
Manage dashboard for all work metrics for system integration work for SCE, ECS, and for all vendors including financial details. Ensure that workload vs. resources remain balanced, and make recommendations for workload leveling and proper allocation and relevancy
Represent Network and Telecom System Integration Services as well as their sourced partners during the multi-discipline Engineering/Construction bi-weekly planning meeting. Ensure that this forum achieves the desired outcomes of issue identification and resolution; high level status updates; information sharing and forward planning for all projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Technical discipline.
One (1) or more years of experience in project or program or contract management, or telecommunications project engineering.
One (1) or more years of experience with Microsoft Excel performing advanced functions such as VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, filtering/sorting, charts and graphing.
One (1) or more years of experience Reporting and Analysis skills, including creating visual dashboards.
Valid California Driver’s License.
Project Management Certification, or equivalent combination of training and experience, project management or performing network and telecom installation.
One (1) or more years of experience using workload scheduling and/or project management tools such as CrewManager, Click Soft, MS Project, Primavera, etc.
One (1) or more years of experience in Telecommunications Construction, Telecommunications Engineering, or Telecommunications Operations or Telecommunications Management.
Demonstrated experience identifying and matching skill sets needed to complete work, advise on training needs for staff on new and changing technologies.
Portfolio Reporting and Administration: Monitors, measures and reports on project progress to management and customers. Leads project forecasting, change management, risk management, and project tracking and controls.
Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
The primary work location for this position is (Rosemead, CA); however, the successful candidate will be required to travel up to 25% of the time, throughout the SCE service territory.
The successful candidate will be required to drive a company vehicle and must possess a valid California driver license and clean abstract.
Relocation does not apply to this position.
