About Business Resiliency:

The Business Resiliency Department brings together stakeholders from across the company to help identify vulnerabilities and implement strategies to ensure the company and its employees are well prepared to prevent, protect, mitigate, respond to, and recover from disruptive events - natural or manmade

​​Position Overview:

You will working within Business Resiliency working with the Director to address emerging issues and manage emergent projects. You will work to facilitate Future Planning Teams, leading departmental support for Task Forces (e.g. Wildfires), and develop and coordinate materials to support emergent requests (e.g. Safety EnBanc, OII/OIRs). The selected candidate will also be responsible to support operation as an on-call Business Resiliency Duty Manager

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Directs/leads cross functional team in the development, implementation and management of all emerging projects, such as Future Planning Cells, Wildfire Task Forces and other projects that affect Business Resiliency regarding emergency response and continuity of operations.

  • Acts on behalf of the Director of BR and identifies and manages resolution of major or complex issues, often of a political or controversial nature

  • Supports department operations as a Business Resiliency Duty Manager and is responsible maintain qualifications and make critical decisions regarding the scope and criticality of emerging threats facing the company

  • Coordinates Business Resiliency external outreach efforts with utility partners, first responders, and state/local government agencies to build cross functional relationship with SCE executives and our Partners.

  • This position works across SCE and EIX as it relates to Business Resiliency, which encompasses training, exercises, planning, business continuity, disaster recovery, risk management, all hazard assessment & mitigation programs, employee preparedness, fire management, watch office, business impact analysis, facility emergency management, future planning cells, Emergency Operations Center, Mobile Command Center, ICS teams, NERC CIP and all real world activations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree

  • Five years of experience in developing and implementing project plans and managing project teams.

  • Ten years of experience working with and interacting with senior and executive level management in the coordination, management and facilitation of meetings with internal/external management as it relates to emergency management.

  • Five years of experience in emergency management analyzing complex environments, managing projects and developing/implementing strategy.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in a technical discipline

  • Ten years in project management and analyzing complex environments while using tact/diplomacy in managing team meetings.

  • Experience leading teams in stand-up and stand-down matters as needs arise.

  • Experience working within a regulated environment

  • Experience working on Emerging Projects within a regulated utility

Certificate and/or Licenses:

  • PMI, Certified Business Continuity/Emergency Planner, CEM

Comments:

  • Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.

  • The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA; however, the successful candidate may also be asked to work at our Irwindale Watch Office or other SCE facilities within a reasonable commute from the Rosemead offices.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties
