In this job, you’ll be responsible for delivering multiple Software projects in the IT & Enterprise portfolio with a high degree of quality and within scope, schedule and budget. Provide project management oversight and direction to project teams to ensure solution and service delivery. Partner and collaborate with multiple stakeholders at various levels of management including IT vendors, Telecom, Cybersecurity, Change & Release Management, Service Management, Finance, Supply Chain and Operations. Align multiple stakeholders to assess performance against project plans, issue resolution, and escalation; effectively communicates with all levels of management. Support the evaluation, development and implementation of IT projects and services within an Organizational Unit (OU). A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Direct project planning (scope, schedule, and budget), project initiation, project execution, and project closure by adhering to SCE IT standards and processes.

  • Manage all stages of the systems development life cycle, using a high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach in the right proportions to fit large, complex, mission-critical, enterprise-level projects and with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability.

  • Manage all responsibilities include dealing with the vendors, negotiating rates with them, defining scope of work from them and project team, ensuring that the vendors provide quality goods and services, handling various other related tasks/milestones and invoice payments.

  • Manage project schedule and budget including cost plans, invoices, unit estimates, and work orders; develop 90% confidence in project estimates.

  • Proactively and independently manage project risks and issues against project scope, timeline, and budget.

  • Conduct and participate in regularly scheduled project team meetings and Sponsor updates to provide general status on project deliverables, milestones, and overall project work.

  • Manage both Waterfall and Agile projects and perform as Scrum Master.

Qualifications

The essentials

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Seven (7) years of experience leading or managing IT projects with balanced business and technical knowledge to provide credible leadership to a multi-function project teams with at least 10-15 team members including Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and QA Personnel.

  • Three (3) years of experience as a Project Manager managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams with a proven track record of successfully implementing software or cloud deployment projects using Agile methodologies.

  • Three (3) years of experience managing project quality, including quality assurance, metrics, and quality controls.

  • Two (2) years of professional work experience managing suppliers, service contracts, project metrics, and contracts to meet project objectives.

The preferred

  • Seven (7) years of experience working in Information Technology for an electric utility.

  • Five (5) years of experience managing project quality, including quality assurance, metrics and quality controls.

  • Five (5) years of professional work experience managing suppliers, service contracts, project metrics, and contracts to meet project objectives.

  • Two (2) years of IT portfolio and customer relationship management experience.

  • Very effective interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building

  • Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools:

  • Agile Project Management tools such as Jira/Octane, GitHub, or equivalent

  • Microsoft Project, Visio, and all Office Tools

  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects. PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent preferred
