Southern California Edison Financial Analyst (Specialist) – Financial Analysis in Rosemead, California

The Financial Analyst will be part of the Operational Finance group within the Finance organization at SCE. The successful candidate’s initial assignment will be responsible for facilitating the design and requirements definitions for an integrated reporting and planning platform to enable SCE to enhance its planning and reporting processes, improve data analysis, and to help create SCE’s “single source of truth” and Finance’s technology future roadmap.
Gathers, documents, analyzes, and draws conclusions or presents recommendations on data and information; plans or assists in planning analyses, presentations, and implementation strategies for some complex analysis or for a portion of a complex analysis.
Utilizes existing models and methodologies and applies financial modeling and formulas to data.
Influences decision making and may make final decision consistent with organizational authorization levels having a minor to moderate impact on department or company.
Develops and makes presentations to department and division management, section supervision, and other interested parties and/or participate in presentations by other analysts, supervisors, and management.
Effectively works independently & within a team environment.
Identifies opportunities to enhance operational finance reports, analytical tools, and self-service capabilities in collaboration with IT to drive efficiency for operational finance and support operational decision making.
Builds detailed analysis and reports utilizing Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Access.
Establishes recommendations and conclusions based on analysis of data with some direction.
Maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices; and performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar field.
Three years of experience with quantitative analysis.
Typically possesses three years of experience in the field of financial analysis.
Demonstrated experience utilizing and developing financial models.
Demonstrated experience with “utility” financial planning and accounting methodologies.
Demonstrated experience developing, validating, and presenting financial statistics and models.
Demonstrated experience with forecasting and performing cost benefit/trend analysis.
Demonstrated experience generating reports utilizing SAP.
Demonstrated experience building reports and ability to track, analyze and maintain the accuracy and integrity of large amounts of data using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and databases.
Demonstrated experience communicating financial information to various audiences including senior management.
The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA
