Position Overview:

This position will be a Senior Advisor of Planning & Analysis within the Operational Finance organization. The successful candidate will work closely with our Operating Units and our Operational Finance Business Partners in managing the operating plan process, ensure the integration of operating plans with the business plan and key regulatory filings, and lead financial planning and analysis in support of SCE-wide initiatives.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Directs the development and oversight of the 5-year operating plans, including template and process design, communications plans, timeline and milestone road map, and cross-OU coordination

  • Applies expertise to ensure the successful translation of the operating plans to operating budgets used for multiple financial planning purposes, including the long term plan and the General Rate Case

  • Plays a key role in the integration of the SCE business plan with operating plans and budgets, and key regulatory filings, notably RAMP and GRC

  • Leads planning and analysis efforts for various SCE-wide initiatives (e.g. consulting, contract business services, affordability, labor analyses)

  • Supervises cross-functional development teams to address strategic issues, and act as a key consultant to senior finance and OU management

  • Promotes the Company’s safety culture to ensure a safe work environment


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree inBusiness, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar discipline

  • Must have five years of operational experience in the fields of financial, business, and/or strategic planning

  • Must have five years of experience managing projects, including project and schedule development, implementation, reporting, and risk management

  • Capability to summarize vast amounts of information at the executive level

  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar discipline

  • Typically possesses seven years of combined experience in financial, business planning, and/or strategic capacities, preferably within the utility industry

  • Experience developing and implementing short-term and long-term strategic planning activities, including financial modeling and analysis

  • Experience with translating operating plans to financial operating budgets

  • Experience with General Rate Case regulatory processes

  • Ability to accurately analyze information and make strategic decisions that have cross-organizational impact

  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiating skills to build consensus with stakeholders and develop and maintain partnerships with organizational units and their senior management


  • The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA

  • Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
