Position Overview:

This position will be a Senior Advisor of Planning & Analysis within the Operational Finance organization. The successful candidate will work closely with our Operational Finance Business Partners in managing monthly executive sessions on financial and operational performance, ensure the integration of operating plans into monthly performance variance analysis, and lead financial planning and analysis in support of SCE-wide initiatives.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Oversees monthly executive sessions and generates associated presentations on financial and operational performance, and directs the implementation of agreed upon action items

  • Develops proactive enterprise-wide insights in support of ongoing performance variance analysis

  • Ensures the successful evolution of the operating plans into living documents that serve as the basis for monthly outlook updates

  • Project manages ad hoc finance initiatives and facilitates executive review and steering team sessions (e.g. consulting, contract business services, affordability, labor analyses)

  • Supervises cross-functional development teams to address strategic issues, and acts as a key consultant to senior finance and OU management

  • Provides supervision and direction to team of financial analysts

  • Promotes the Company’s safety culture to ensure a safe work environment


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar discipline

  • Must have five years of operational experience in the fields of financial, business, and/or strategic planning

  • Must have five years of experience managing projects, including project and schedule development, implementation, reporting, and risk management

  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar discipline

  • Typically possesses seven years of combined experience in financial, business planning, and/or strategic capacities, preferably within the utility industry

  • Experience developing and implementing short-term and long-term strategic planning activities, including financial modeling and analysis

  • Experience with translating operating plans to financial operating budgets

  • Experience with General Rate Case regulatory processes

  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP

  • Ability to accurately analyze information and make strategic decisions that have cross-organizational impact

  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiating skills to build consensus with stakeholders and develop and maintain partnerships with organizational units and their senior management


  • The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA

  • Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.

  • Relocation may be available for qualified candidates.
