Become an Environmental Senior Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. This role is part of the Project Environmental Management (PEM) Division that is responsible for environmental review, permitting, and construction support of utility operations and projects. The team leads projects with short response times in compliance with environmental requirements. Following SCE’s environmental compliance requirements when performing maintenance of SCE’s electrical infrastructure is a critical piece to complying with environmental laws and regulations while providing safe and reliable power to customers. As an Environmental Senior Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting Transmission Line Projects/Programs. You will perform technical evaluation and resource area management for transmission projects to ensure environmental compliance. You may advise or participate as a team member during project implementation and decisions to support timely and on budget project delivery while maintaining environmental compliance. In addition, you will support Environmental Program and Project Managers with compliance analysis and reporting. You may also provide project management for smaller scale programs that require environmental analysis and oversight.

Perform technical analysis and implement environmental compliance for Transmission line projects coordinating with project teams, agency peers, and Environmental Services (ES) management to provide timely and on-budget delivery.
Work with external partners to maintain performance expectations and ensure accurate, high quality, timely results.
Manage consultant scope, budget, and invoicing and work with contractors to ensure issues are resolved.
Interact with Operations and ES staff to implement technical resource compliance strategies on transmission line projects in alignment with operating processes.
Contribute to development of technical resource area processes and/or guidance for projects to ensure consistency and standardization of resource impact analysis and compliance implementation.
Manage multi-disciplinary technical teams and external consultants to perform environmental analysis supporting project development, permitting and implementation.
Contribute to cross-functional teams (e.g. engineers, field crews) to address issues and tackle problems to advance projects.
Serve as a subject matter expert in providing interpretation of environmental regulations and rules that affect the environmental review process for projects.
Five or more years of analytical experience.
At least two years of experience in environmental compliance.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental resource compliance, management, or related field.
Contract Management experience.
Experience in the Utility industry.
Technical analysis experience.
Experience supporting and/or leading projects.
Interact effectively and collaboratively with peers, clients, management, and other organizations, sometimes under severe time constraints.
Strong ethics, oral and written communication, and critical thinking skills.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills, and the ability to engage in continuous learning.
Ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
