As the Compliance Program Management Office Principal Manager, you will lead a cross functional team to build and implement compliance programs across the enterprise. There are currently 20 Programs responsible for SCE’s compliance with the NERC CIP Standards and other NERC, CPUC, FERC, CEC or CFTC compliance regulations. The ERCP risk based compliance method will identify the need for 3-5 new compliance Programs annually. You will lead efforts with Directors and Principal Managers across the enterprise to evaluate, develop, and document strategies for forming new compliance Programs within SCE, work with management on the formation of new compliance Programs based on the strategy, and provide leadership and direction for all efforts relating to Program development and operations, including, but not limited to:

  • Plan, direct, and control the activities of a team of compliance professionals working in multiple roles to support E&C Operational Compliance goals

  • Evaluate and develop strategies for forming new compliance Programs across impacted OUs

  • Provide leadership and direction to OUs and cross-functional teams managing compliance projects to address compliance obligations and operational risk mitigation

  • Define the PMO Compliance Project Lifecycle Methodology (CPLC) to standardize and introduce economies of repetition in the execution of compliance projects

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to Program Owners and Program Managers on planning, designing, building and operating their Program.

  • Prepare and presenting reports to officers and senior management

  • Train OU compliance teams on Program Management Office procedures and tools

  • Provide advice and consultation to managers, executives and officers regarding Program health, operations, and compliance risks

  • This position will have high visibility with SCE officers, directors, and managers in T&D, IT, Customer and Operational Services, Generation, HR, E&C, and Law.


Qualifications you need …

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Information Technology, Business, Engineering or related field.

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience managing people or leading cross functional teams.

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience managing complex projects/programs and be knowledgeable of internal controls, QA activities, and risk.

  • 5 or more years of utility experience.

  • 3 or more years of NERC, CPUC and FERC regulatory compliance experience.

Other details that will set you up for success …

  • Masters degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering or related field.

  • Demonstrated success managing in a cross functional, matrixed organization driving collaboration and alignment.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP or equivalent certification)

  • Manage complex projects/programs impacting T&D, IT, Customer and Operational Services, Generation, HR, E&C, and Law
